Biography

My applied research is focused on the implementation and sustainability of evidence-based instruction and data-based decision making practices in schools, particularly in reading, writing and mathematics. Through my research, I examine ways to use data to improve and intensify instruction, as well as examine and implement coaching and consultation models to support teachers' implementation of evidence-based practices. I also support leaders in transforming their systems so that multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) can be implemented with integrity and sustained.

In my current role at CAREI, I am the project coordinator for CORE Partners, a treatment group in a large nationwide randomized control trial examining the impacts of MTSS-Reading (MTSS-R) on teacher practices and student outcomes. CORE Partners is a collaboration between members at CAREI and CORE Learning, that provides professional development, support, evidence-based Tier 1 instruction and evidence-based Tier 2 intervention (Sound Partners) through an MTSS-R model. As part of the project, I manage the day-to-day operations of the CORE Partners team, but also provide professional development, consultation and support to local MTSS-R coaches, support to district and school leaders, and support to school-level leadership teams.
