Biography

I am thrilled to be a part of the CAREI team and look forward to making a positive impact in the areas of partnership, professional learning, research, evaluation, and MTSS implementation. As a former research assistant at CAREI working on the multi-year, multi-university Learning from Leadership Project and serving under the direction and advisement of Drs. Kyla Wahlstrom and Jennifer York-Barr, I am a proud College of Education and Human Development alumnus and a current adjunct professor in the Department of Organizational Leadership, Policy, and Development, successfully teaching the Leadership for Professional Development class (OLPD 5374) since 2014.

My K-12 work experiences include teaching middle and high school mathematics in multiple metro area school districts, frequently serving on and leading school and district professional development committees. I have also been deeply involved in the development and implementation of RTI and MTSS frameworks and systems, serving in roles such as K-12 Data Coach, Director of Research & Evaluation, and Director of Equity & Learning. Key focus areas of this work have included increasing the capacity and data fluency of school leaders as well as designing and communicating an MTSS framework, establishing structural and staffing elements to install MTSS across the school district, identifying opportunities and engaging district and school leaders in professional learning about MTSS, and monitoring the progress and effectiveness of MTSS implementation.
