Wendy Stuttgen, Ed.S, NCSP is the Associate Director of Literacy at CAREI. She leads statewide systems-level initiatives focused on structured literacy, implementation science, and the alignment of evidence-based instructional practices.

    Wendy Stuttgen, Ed.S, NCSP is the Associate Director of Literacy at the University of Minnesota’s Center for Applied Research and Educational Improvement (CAREI). She leads statewide systems-level initiatives focused on structured literacy, implementation science, and the alignment of evidence-based instructional practices—through CAREI-developed curriculum and professional learning, coaching supports, and enhancements to existing programs. With experience as a school psychologist, special education director, regional literacy consultant, and adjunct professor, Wendy partners with district leaders, school teams, and educators, including hundreds of classroom observations each year, to ensure initiatives are research-driven, grounded in practice, and implemented with fidelity to promote equitable outcomes for all students.
