Missy Weldy brings a diverse professional background to her role as literacy project coordinator for CAREIALL. She has a master of education from the University of Minnesota along with 15 years of experience in Bloomington Public Schools. During her tenure, she taught first grade, was a building literacy specialist, and a district Q-Comp peer coach. Weldy returned to the University of Minnesota and completed a master of biological sciences in 2019. Her career focused on medical microbiology as a research scientist at the U of M for the next few years. Weldy moved into project management and product development when she accepted a position at Loam Bio, a startup company developing a novel agricultural product made from fungi. Her role at CAREI allows her to bring her varied skills together to support the CAREIALL program.
