Biography

Lindsey Hoy (she/her) has worked in K-12 education for her entire career in a variety of roles. She began her career as a first grade teacher in Chicago Public Schools and continued to teach Pre-K and Kindergarten within the KIPP network of charter schools in Washington, D.C. She transitioned into school leadership as an Assistant Principal at the middle school level, and went on to participate in the KIPP Fisher Fellowship to design and found a new elementary school within the KIPP DC network, Spring Academy. 

Upon transitioning to the Minneapolis area, Lindsey worked at The Achievement Network as a school and system instructional leadership coach, supporting schools and systems across the country. More recently, she served as the Senior Academic Officer for Hiawatha Academies overseeing academic strategy and programming across their network of K-12 schools. She is currently working at the Center for Applied Research and Educational Improvement (CAREI) at the University of Minnesota to support implementation of the recently passed READ Act legislation. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Northwestern University and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership and Policy Development at the University of Minnesota. In her personal time, Lindsey enjoys watching documentaries, hiking, crafting, and spending time with her extended family.
