      Clarissa R. Jackson, PhD, is a PreK-12 Literacy Specialist for the Center of Applied Research and Educational Improvement (CAREI). She is a certified national facilitator for Language Essential for Teachers of Reading and Spelling (LETRS) and is passionate about literacy and family engagement in students and families of color. Before working for CAREI, Clarissa worked as an instructional coach, reading interventionist, and classroom teacher.
